Issue 42: One Week Late. Right On Time.

ISSUE 42

21 MAY 2025 | READ ONLINE

Hi Reader,

I didn’t send this newsletter last week.

Not because I didn’t want to. It was on the list. Half-written in my head. But I was traveling. I was tired. And honestly, I just … didn’t.

For a moment, I told myself I’d blown it.

That if I can’t keep a consistent rhythm, I shouldn't call myself a leader.

But that voice? It’s not true. It’s a relic of perfectionism. Trying to convince me that if something isn’t on time, it simply not worthwhile.

Here’s what I’ve come to believe:

Growth doesn’t follow a schedule.

It doesn’t show up with neat timing or clean lines.

It sneaks in late.

Wrapped in resistance.

Disguised as unease.

That edge you’re feeling?

That moment where nothing feels quite right?

It might not be a signal to try harder.

It might be an invitation to listen differently.

I’ve seen this again and again.

From global executives leading transformation to purpose-driven professionals reshaping what success means to them.

There’s always a moment.

Quiet. Subtle. Disorienting.

Where the old way of working - of leading, of living - starts to feel just slightly off.

Not catastrophic. Not broken.

Just misaligned in a way you can’t quite explain yet.

That moment is easy to brush aside. To label as fatigue. Or confusion.

But more often than not, it’s the early signal of evolution.

The beginning of a shift.

The stretch before the stride.

So here’s what I’m asking you to do this week.

Nothing dramatic.

Just pause long enough to ask yourself:

  • Where am I feeling the most resistance right now?
  • What am I still forcing that might not fit anymore?
  • What if this tension isn’t a problem, but a pointer?

There’s wisdom in the friction. And often, the thing we think is pulling us off track is the exact thing pulling us into alignment.

Before You Go

I want you to remember that discomfort isn’t something to escape. It’s something to explore. It often arrives before the insight. Before the language. Before the next version of you is ready to emerge.

So if you’ve been feeling a little off lately (and if you didn't do everything on your to-do list), you might not be falling behind.

You might be stretching into something bigger.

See you soon,

Megan

ISSUE 41 7 MAY 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, We’re conditioned to think that growth feels good, that clarity arrives in clean lines, and that progress comes with a sense of ease. But that's not always true. More often than not, growth feels like discomfort. Friction. Doubt. Resistance. And yet, that’s not a sign that something is wrong. It’s often the most accurate signal that something important is happening. I’ve worked with many leaders. Some were running billion-dollar operations, others...

ISSUE 40 30 APRIL 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, You know that feeling when you meet someone operating at a different level. And suddenly, your own standards shift? That’s exactly what happened to me last week. I had the chance to keynote at a mastermind hosted by Andreza Araújo, an entrepreneur, documentarian, and purpose-driven powerhouse. And let me tell you: witnessing how she leads, creates, and builds was a reminder of what’s possible when you stop playing small. You see, the gap between...

ISSUE 39 23 APRIL 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, There’s a certain discomfort that can creep in quietly, almost imperceptibly at first. You don’t hate your job. You’re not in crisis. But somehow, your role no longer fits who you’ve become. What once felt like your dream job now feels like a holding pattern. You’ve grown as a leader. And now, your purpose is asking more of you. Somewhere, somehow, you’ve started to feel misaligned. Sort of like wearing a well-tailored jacket that suddenly feels...
