Issue 58: Morning Pages, Listening, and the Power of Reignition

ISSUE 58

24 SEPTEMBER 2025 | READ ONLINE

Hello Reader,

A few months ago, in the middle of a tough season where I felt like I was losing my confidence (and maybe even my way), my coach gently suggested I read The Artist’s Way.

Since then, I’ve been borrowing as many of Julia Cameron’s books as I can from the library. And wow - she has a lot. Each one feels like an invitation to return to the quiet voice inside that says: there’s more here for you.

What I’ve Been Learning

Morning pages are medicine.

Three messy pages written by hand every morning. No polish. No judgment. No audience. They sweep the mental cobwebs away. I’ve journaled for years. Sometimes consistently, sometimes not. But every time I invest the time, the difference is undeniable. It’s like ordering my thoughts before the world has a chance to disorganize them.

Listening is leadership.

In The Listening Path, Cameron argues that listening itself is a creative act. When we genuinely listen to our environment, to others, and to ourselves, we discover guidance that has been there all along. For leaders, that kind of listening shifts conversations and deepens influence.

Reignition is possible.

In It’s Never Too Late to Begin Again, Cameron talks about reignition. About fanning sparks that seem to have gone out but are still glowing beneath the surface. The ember is always alive if we’re willing to breathe life into it.

Creativity is spiritual oxygen.

Across her books, Cameron insists that creativity is a form of survival. A partnership with the divine. When we open to that flow, clarity and energy return.

How This Applies to You

You might not call yourself an “artist.” But you are a creator. In thought, in relationships, in leadership.

  • Morning pages sharpen clarity.
  • Deep listening expands presence.
  • Reignition sparks courage for new steps.
  • Creativity as oxygen sustains you through uncertainty.

This Week, Try This

  • Write your morning pages tomorrow: three pages in longhand, first thing. Don’t edit. Just write.
  • Notice one moment today when you really listen: to someone else, to your surroundings, or to your own intuition.
  • Ask yourself: If it really isn’t too late, what would I reignite?

Julia Cameron may have written for artists, but her wisdom is just as powerful for leaders. She reminds us that clarity often slips in quietly through pen on paper, silence in listening, or the courage to begin (or begin again).

Have you ever read Julia Cameron’s work?
Hit reply and let me know. I see every email that comes in, and I’d love to know what resonated for you.

See you next week,

Megan

ISSUE 60 8 OCTOBER 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, Yesterday I was meant to launch something big. Something I shared with you in last week’s newsletter. This project (this dream, this calling, this next chapter) had a date, a vision, a plan. But yesterday came and went. And I didn’t launch. I could dress it up as strategy, alignment, or timing. But if I'm candid with you, the truth is simpler: I wasn’t ready. And saying that out loud has left me a little unmoored. What I’ve Been Feeling It’s...

ISSUE 59 1 OCTOBER 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, Yesterday I was sitting with a storytelling expert, digging into what it really takes to make people lean in. Her advice was simple: anchor everything around three key messages, and then build your story from there. That conversation couldn’t have come at a better time. Next week, I’ll be officially launching something new: The Institute for Safety Coaching and Leadership (ISCL). I haven’t shared this here before, so think of this as your sneak...

ISSUE 57 17 SEPTEMBER 2025 | READ ONLINE Hi Reader, I’m a little late with this week’s newsletter. And how fitting (really), because the story I’m sharing is about something that’s been quietly orbiting Earth for decades before anyone noticed. Astronomers just confirmed something extraordinary: Earth has a new quasi-moon. Now, if you're not an astronomy lover, you might wonder what is a quasi-moon? It isn’t a second Moon (exactly), but a tiny asteroid, estimated at 19 meters wide, that orbits...
